How Trigger Points Elsewhere in Your Body Can Affect Your Pelvic Floor
When someone has pelvic pain, it's natural to assume the problem is located in the pelvis. But pain is often referred — meaning the muscle or tissue causing the pain isn't necessarily where the pain is felt. Trigger points in the hips, low back, abdomen, and even the glutes can refer pain directly into the pelvic floor, and pelvic floor tension can just as easily refer pain outward into the low back, hips, or thighs.
